After twenty years or more of being a customer of the fabulous Old Town Shoe Repair store, I was asked by the shopkeeper to make a bust portrait of her husband, the shoemaker, as a surprise birthday gift. Working only from a few furtively provided photographs and my own impressions of him as his customer, I sculpted his portrait in terra cotta.
