A mother commissioned portraits of her children. Because she wanted small but full-body statues, I created the form in clay, which was then cast by a foundry. The children came into my studio to be photographed from various angles and so that I could meet them and get a sense of their personalities. One visit included their little dog, which inspired me to include her in the final art piece.
